The Linscott family · since 1840
A working farm, still working.
The event barn is the newest chapter of a much older place — a farm that has been in one family for well over a century and a half.
Skyview Acres has been in the Linscott family name since 1840. Over the generations it has been home to cattle, pigs, sheep and chickens.
Today it is a working farm of 225 acres, home to sixty Angus-Shorthorn cattle, tucked into the valley twenty-five minutes from Athens and fifteen from Amesville.
The event barn is new by comparison. It was built in 2015 and renovated the following year; the event space opened in 2016. Inside are 2,800 air-conditioned square feet that comfortably seat up to 150 — the same fields and pond outside that the family has farmed for generations, now set up to gather people together.
It is still, first and last, a farm. That's the point of it.
